Telescope / Binoculars

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

One question Davinci - not related to my current problem - is there anywhere else we should be changing values? The gfx.csv file has a width and height field set to 1024, im guessing we change that to match our own monitors?.
No, you cannot change any of the values at first, try to see if the mod works!

After that, you would change the 1024 files, and place them on another background that fits your resolution.

If you change the values before doing that - the mod will crash due to the values in the gfx will not match the files in the toolbar folder.

Well that is annoying. I dont know whats going on....

First time I tried, it didnt work.

Second time I tried - i changed the values to 1680x1050, in certain columns ( i was just messing around, dont remember which!) - it worked. I just needed to move the screen a bit.

Since then, nothing will work - driving me nuts! Ive tried chnging ever column to get it to work, no luck. Ive deleted then started over.

What other mods are you trying to run with that one?

Disable all of them, and then try that mod!

I have - this is very frustrating!

Ok Ive started again, again. - what I have done was...

1. Downloaded binoculars and telescope and put them on a 1680 x 1050 background.

2. Changed the xy coordinates in line 41 to -328, -141.

3. Activated MOD.

4. Loaded sandbox.

Ive tried different armies, different generals (i remember early on you mentioned only applying it to army and corps commanders)

I dont see what Im doing wrong! Want my binoculars :)

con20or - I forgot to mention that the mod is only set up for the Commanding Officer, Lee \ Meade - basically to see if that works before adding in the others.

Also - if you have changed any of the values in that mod - it probably will not work!

The screens will not line up correctly - worry about that after the mod works!

1) OK
2) this will require you to edit the gfx file with the new settings – replace the width, height – with your new width, height
3) OK – as long as no other mod is activated
4) OK

After that – it should work!

Another Idea - I'll change the values and post the files here - stand by!

Confusing alright, but doesnt work - it did when I edited the other values, or at least one of them.

What should row 6,7 and 8 read on the gfx.csv for a 1680 x 1050 screen?

OK, Replace the logistics folder with this one in Binoculars_V3

You must have the new files sizes already loaded in the toolbar folder for both files, tetescope, and binoculars.
