Hi, is there a way to do a new map with some breastworks- that would make it more authentic. I would like to do the scenes historically, and then see if CSA could have done better. Anyway, it brings the game to life. Take care, any improvements are appreciated- keeps the game fresh and interesting
Not yet. Map modding will be available one day though.
Little Powell, I was under the impression that the breastworks could be added by the mapname.csv file, along with the mapname.bmp file – or are you discussing some other type of breastworks?

Actually maybe they can be. I know that Garnier has his random map generator that can place stonewalls. I'm not that much of a map guru.

Understandable , you each seem to have unique skill pertaining to different parts of the game, which is great for the team, considering that this allows you to cover all of the bases.

You , remember the way that the fires were displayed on the map, If I remember correctly the breastworks can also be set using specific coordinates in the mapname.csv file.

And then the mapname.bmp can be edited to give that spot a defensive bonus.

Ah. Well then maybe you or someone can make a so called "Gettysburg Day 2" map or something. One where the breastworks had been constructed on Culps Hill. This could also potentially be done in other areas. Like the breastworks that were constructed between Little Round Top and Big Round Top (that are still there today) on the night of the 2nd.

Tested the battle during the last three days and all worked fine. Unfortunately the Battle ended with the death of General Lee in the midst of day 3, so I can´t assure that all works fine till the last minute.

Can´t wait till the carryover version is out, at least I hope you planned to release one.

Great to hear everything worked, thanks for the report Sir. What about the battle ending with the death of Lee, this is not scripted? Battle ends with time or death of Meade. What about the scoring, Major Victory?

It was a Major Victory - 22000 points - difficult: normal.

Tried this morning to kill Lee with my Cav during day one, but this wasn´t possible, he escaped all the time with amazing speed.
Meade can die during day one and if this tragedy happens, the battle ends immediately with a Defeat.

By the way, I forgott to mention that I had to scale down the uniform settings from Best to Medium after day 2, because on day 3 all spotted enemies suddenly disappeared from the battlefield, but the map showed their last seen location.
Reloading the saved game with the uniform settings on medium solved this "problem".

OK, you didn't blow it out scoring wise, this was a concern since the USA version provides almost 10,000 bonus points whereas the CSA version provides none, and both are scored at 20K for a Major Victory. My early testing showed the going was tough for those Union boys holding their historic objectives the first day...so, the objective points came to be.

Can't kill Lee or any of the other top, and some subs, officers...they are immortal till about the last half hour the last day. This immortal feature allows scripting to last the entire scenario, before, as with TC2M, when the scripted officer died, all scripting died with him. Long, reliable scripting is now a reality...thank Norb for creating the IMMORTALS.

I didn't get to test JEB's boys at the Angle. Did they get there? Did they charge? Were they effective? Also, did Vincent get to the LRT to activate the objective before the Rebs? I had a last, untested, change here to hasten his path. Thanks in advance!
