orders delay not working

Post by MikeCK »

Not sure if this is a bug but I send a courier to a subordinate with instructions to move forward 300 yards with the time set for 30 minutes from now. As soon as the courier got there, the subordinate immediatly moved forward...happens repeatedly. Maybe operator error...anyone else get this to work?

Hi,

I have also noticed that if you have Taken Charge of a unit couriers do not work. You order the unit to move, the courier is sent out from higher command, but the unit never moves, not even after the courier arrived.

All the best,
Kip.

I just don't understand instead how the whole thing with orders work and how it changes with the settings so I would appreciate if some grognard took his time to explain.

The example is: If I take Pender, Div commander, and give orders to each separate bde commander, aren't my couriers supposed to get to them BEFORE their orders are carried out?

Can anyone explain?

Could be a bug.

Of course, because the unit is TC'ed.

The unit was not TC'd. He was attached as a brigade under my division leader. He acknowledged the "move" portion of the order....just not the "...after 8am" portion of it.

I was trying to time my attack. i could see no reason why he would follow the order part but not the time part of the courier letter.

Also, the "advance" order doesnt appear to do anything.

I'll have to see if I can reproduce that TC/Courier bug, but about the advance button; it only works when you are within firing distance of an enemy.
