Randomly-generated Sandbox Battles
In TC2m I used Open Play very often in the random mode.
I have not found a similar routine on SOW. Is there any intention to add random sandbox battles in the future.
It is not much of an option at the moment but will come into its own once the maps and OOB's available have expanded.

What was the difference between random open play and the sandbox we have now?

Re:Randomly-generated Sandbox Battles
There was a button in TC2M which set up an entirely random open-play battle.
Computer chose map, chose OOB and chose size, duration and type of battle. All untouched by human hand.
I see nothing as random as this in SOW, much now has to be pre-selected ... or have I missed something.

Oh I see. Don't think there's anything like that.

I had never ever heard that anyone used this. I added it into tc2m because it made sense to me. But I never heard that anyone actually used it. I second the idea of a choice of a random OOB. That would be a great addition! See page 29 of the TC2M Printed Manual.
I used to use this a great deal. Ended up for example fighting the Brandy Station cavalry OOB's at Laurel Junction. Or something equally bizarre but interesting.
What a shame it has gone.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.
