scenrio #2 cannot be won with only 2 brigades. heth needs all 4 grigades and of course heth did have all 4 brigades . it cannot be won on normal who are you trying to fool.
theres actually 2 parts to that scenario. this is only the first part where heth was surprized at mcphersons ridge. but within that hour heth did have his whole divsion up and online. so you need to extend the scenario and add in the rest of heths division. theres no way you can possible get a 7000 score . i believe you're being biased towards the union army anyway.

It's possible. I just beat it a couple weeks ago on Normal only having Archer and Davis.
Utilize your artillery, take the McPherson Farm OBJ as early as you can and take up defensive positions to meet the Iron Brigade, the other OBJ only needs one regiment and Davis to hold, use the rest of Davis's regiments to help take the McPherson's farm OBJ. You can get an 8,000+ using those tactics. Good luck.

I have beaten it several times with only 2 brigades. In fact, I've never gotten the 4 brigade variation. I know it's been sighted, but like UFOs I'm not sure it exists.
The key is to be very aggressive in taking the farm. Move your artillery up to cannister the defenders. I also send one regiment to take the guns at the unfinished RR and another to take the guns on the other side of the woods. They come in handy when fending off the Iron Brigade.

I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

I do use the courier system, but I also TC some of the regiments at critical times. I always TC the batteries. The goal in these scenarios is to accumulate a certain number of points in a certain amount of time, not necessarily win the battle. That's why I greatly prefer Sandbox play, where I almost never TC anything, unless I want to capture a battery. There, points don't matter, just beating the AI senseless. You are obviously not using the currier system and are TCing the regiments to control the movements you describe. Gunny, we had a long discussion thread about this about a month ago. The key for me was to move the artillery up to point blank range and let the cannister rip the union boys apart. Makes it much easier.
Also, while Heth eventually did have all four brigades, Pettigrew and Brockenbrough did not show up until early in the afternoon, which is out of the scope of the scenario.

Wait for the fixes in arty efficiency and you'll see how it all changes for the better!
BTW, MTG how are your tests going?

In addition, I've been working on making infantry enfilade fire more effective. No more surrounding a regiment on three sides and shooting for 5 minutes before they break! This issue requires a bit of balancing, since the AI does not fully appreciate just how dangerous having ones' flank or rear exposed really is. If I make adjustments which reflect napoleonic era behavior of a regiment immediately breaking after receiving fire from the flank, the human player has a powerful tool that will always allow him to always win. The AI does flank, but does so slowly. It does not give that maneuver a high enough priortiy IMHO.
I hope to have a mod out by the end of the week that has both of these changes included. Hopefully, a few folks will try it out and give some feedback for further adjustments.
They are going well. I think I have a reasonable model which makes artillery a respectable weapon at distances greater than 200 yds., but not overwhelming. I've adjusted just about all the variables that are accessible.BTW, MTG how are your tests going?

well if i remember correctly heth was able to just brush the iron brigade aside easily with just 2 brigades , so you changed something in the art and in the inf. ????? i'll check it again in a few days . i doubt if its ready yet. i am starting to lose faith a little. and 1 adjust ment all 4 of davies regiments should be in the scenario . at least they were engaged in that skirmish in 1863.i think it strange all of davies regts. are not there. 4 regts. are called for. davies wouldn't go into battle without all his regts. up and online. and another thing archers and davies brigades need to be back with the art. and not starting all the way forward.
