What do we need to run the new game?
I was just wondering what we needed to run the new game.
Vista?
How much RAM, ect.?
I think there already might be a topic on this though...

Norb has said that it should be pretty comparable to TC2M. Maybe just a little bit higher, but not too different. I would say to run it smoothly 1 GB of Ram is prefered. It seems like the amount of Ram people had made a huge difference compared to the video card.

This has been my experience and my experience alone with TC2M and my old rig a Pentium4 @ 2.4G Hz, Nvidia 6800 Graphics. Upgrading from 512Mb RAM to 1 Gb made a huge performance difference. Upgrading from 1 Gb RAM to 2 Gbs of RAM made just a barely noticable improvement which didn't help much with frame freezes or running hi-res.
I'd say somewhere between 1 and 2Gb's running TC2M was the point of diminishing returns.
Short answer, go with as much RAM and the best graphics card you can afford.
As far as the Vista thing, who knows? Some say it runs fine and others have problems with it. I'll take a geuss just based on some research i did and from what others have said. In order to run any game adequately under Vista, one probably needs a rig with a more horse power. One clue is that Vista needs more headroom (resident RAM) than XP.
All just a geuss and subjective as hell since a technical side by side comparison of the same PC loaded with Vista and then loaded with XP is needed to evaluate properly.
I went with XP pro 32 bit as the OS on my new rig and i'm satisfied.
One option i seriously considered for my new rig was to have two HDs, one loaded with Vista and the other with Xp. Best of both worlds. Boot up with XP for games or boot up with Vista for web surfing, media, etc.
When gamer and other SW companies start releasing 64 bit versions of their products in the future, i'll probably add the second HD with a 64 bit OS. The only potential problem there would be the old 32 bit drivers for kb's, printers, mice, CDdrives, etc. are not compatible with a 64 bit OS. Hopefully by then maybe PC HW manufacturers will have both 32 and 64 bit drivers available for all their products.

Some of us armchair generals are right in line with the Vikings, Egyptians and propably a whole bunch more armies who are said to have consumed large quantities of adult beverages before battle.
Ol Abe Lincoln seemed to think it helped General Grant!!:P

B) CAUTION: Using your brain is NOT endorsed by governments, religious, educational institutions and corporations
involved with serious power and financial profit obtained from a brainwashed and enslaved population.
Discomfort may occur as confusing independent thought challenges your current views.
Use your brain, think for yourself and question authority.
