How do I import OOB's?

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

How do I import OOB's?

Post by Sweeney »

I just want to import one of the OOB's that the other modders are making. Where are the OOB's for the game kept, and how do I do it?

An easy way is to make an OOB folder inside of your Mods folder then go to the mod menu in game and check it so it has a yellow box beside it and go have fun in sandbox

I did what you said and it didn't show up in the menu. I would really like to just import an OOB for sandbox play. how do I get to the folder that has the sandbox OOB's?

For whatever reason Pender, it isn't working. Is there anybody out there who knows how to access the sandbox OOB folder?

You can't access them. You would have to create a mod for them. It's easy to do:

Create a folder in your Mods directory. Name it whatever you like

Create a folder in that folder called OOBs and place the OOBs in there

So the directory structure will look like Mods\your mod name\OOBs\your custom oob.csv

Thank you LP. The explicit instructions on structure were critical.

I'm not sure if I should put this elsewhere but I can't find info on making my own OOBs by modifying the existing ones. I did a lot of OOB editing in TC2M and I can't figure this out. I looked in the manual and I guess I missed something because it looks complicated and I did not understand it. Also on this thread I tried what was suggested and nothing comes up in the single player/ sandbox mode. When I save an edited OOB what do I do next? Is there a quick step by step? Thanks, no hurry.

Hi 9thBtnMOS

Just a couple things for you to check; do you have the folder structure for the mod like I mentioned above? Is your OOB name start with "oob".. If not, it won't show up in the list.
