Chickamauga OOB - RFA
Chickamauga OOB - RFA
Hey all - I've decided to start work on a Chickamauga OOB. Any tips for reference works? I've got a fair bit of data online, but I need some specific regimental counts in some places.

Try the OR's. They are online and/or can be found on CD's.

Use the converted CMP OOB. The numbers aren't 100% correct but the ratios should be okay.

Here are some more possibilities:

A review of the same book:

...and try this one:

Use the above gamesarchive with this:

Each "box" following the regimental designation equals 50 men. For example, Wilder's 92 Ill-- 8 boxes under the heading "strength" equates to 400 men (duh).
Code explanation
Morale: rated best to worst, A though D
Weapon: R= rifle, S= Sharps, M= musket, C= carbine
(ex: R7= rifle armed with 7x50 men, or 350 available rifles)
Volume 30 of the Official Records (OR's) has the Chickamauga records.
The Chickamauga-OB from the Volley and Bayonet ACW-Campaign book. It contains the number of men engaged in each brigade as well as the number and type of guns in each battalion.
