War Between the States

Post by Deadmeat1471 »

I've been doing a 'let's play' of Gary Grigsby's War Between the States, in my opinion the best strategic level civil war game made yet.

I thought you guys might be interested :D I've finished the game now, i'm just writing up the last couple of years events with the battle statistics.

I may do the Union next, but im not sure theres much interest on the forum :D

Also Its a bit short for the complexity of the game and subject matter, I tried to liven it up a bit with some historical information, to inform people on the characters and what they mean to the game, but alas the civil war is far to complex to get people who know nothing about it involved :(

For any interested, its quite short but picture heavy! Also i will probably be buying scourge of war today, Hurrah for the southern Confederacy.

Yeah, I hear that's the best game of it's kind. I've been planning to pick it up.

Glad to hear your thinking about getting SOWGB. You're in for a real treat. :)

Yeah I really cant recommend the game more. Its the most realistic, most all encompassing strategic level Civil War game i've played, and i've played em all :D

My only gripe would be, it's quite microy (if thats a word) lots of clicking etc.

But thats IT.

Also, I've got SOW now :D just tried round tops and Bufords cavalry battle, decided I need to relearn manoever tactics/tricks before I try anymore scenarios :D

Yeah, the scenarios are a challenge. There isn't an easy one in the bunch. If you get stuck on a particular one, just post in the forum and we'll help you out. I've helped a lot of players get out of binds... :)

It's best to go through the tutorials before you tackle the historic scenarios. Once you master them, you can handle any of the historic scenarios.
