Me teaching class Antietam!
I am teaching the 7th graders (I am an eight grader) about the battle of Antietam (I did this last year for my class as well. The 7s get to study the Civil War, and I asked if I could teach the class about Antietam, knowing a lot about the Civil War.)
So. I am hoping that this new game will come out before then, so I can create a map of Antietam first, and second, hopefully use this in my presentation. I am also hoping I can make the game speed up, I get the same casualty count, but the game moves 10 times as fast or something to that extent. This is because I ask questions to the kids, and if the Union gets it correct, I do some move on their part, and if the Confederates get it correct, then there is some move for them.
All together, I am hoping you guys can:
1: Get the game out so I can create that Antietam map.
2: Help me make the game speed increase to 30 seconds for 1 second or so.
3: Have some ideas that I can use for this instructional lesson.
I am hoping to use this game for 1:
An advertising pull-off, and 2:
It is much better than TC2M for what I would like to do.
Thanks for your input.

Hancock, there's no nobler profession IMO than teaching, you should be proud!;)
I remember my 7th grade teacher, Sister Adrean Marie, us guys called her SAMy behind her back. One day for some unforgotten unknown reason i yelled "Hey SAMy" out loud to her in front of the entire class! The entire class broke out in uncontrolled laughter including some of the girls  She turned red as a beet!
But later so did i when i had to apologize in front of the class, Sister Superior, the pastor..and got a whole bunch of smacks with that yard stick:woohoo: ...and if not enough had to stand in the corner for the rest of class!
I thought that was the end of it til i got home!
Ahh, those good ol days!:silly:

Very good help. Now I know what not to do, make the men come out of the computer screen...

I guess it depends on when you plan on teaching the class. Maps will not be open to modding initially. I'm not sure what our expansion or extra map plans will be right now. If it's anytime soon, it might be better to do it with TC2M. I would love to attend that class! I know that TC2M has been used in classes before, as a teacher asked permission to use it once.

Re:Me teaching class Antietam!
I remember teaching my own 7th grade class about the Civil War. My teacher asked me if I would for the same reasons Hancock's teacher did. This was back before animated computer games, so I used an overhead projector and a book I had just finished, "Iron Clads of The Civil War", from the school library.
My teacher ended up being quite pleased as he learned quite a bit himself! But also because I chose a rather obscure subject as most people never knew the south built more Iron Clads then the Virginia or even that a spirited naval war was fought to the best of the South's ability.
It ended up being a good experience that was followed up a year later teaching my 8th grade class about the desert war of WWII. I now wish I hadn't taken my 8th grade teachers advice about not becoming a teacher.
You go Hancock and I'm sure no matter what "tools" you use will end up being better than anything the teacher will surely do.

I never said I was going to be a teacher, though teaching the Civil War... could do that. Would like a lot of money though! Those schools don't hand out enough pay dirt!
