I thought I'd share my latest battle in case other people are unaware of this part of the game and would enjoy it as much as I have.

I'm referring to playing as a small part of army vs army historical scenarios. I have just fought as Gibbon's Iron Brigade at Antietam under the ultimate orders of McClellan, via Doubleday. Both armies fought (or stood still, awaiting orders from Little Mac) and I tried to play my bit. I was able to fight my corner and to take the odd quick flight round the battlefield to see what was going on elsewhere. I could, in theory, have stayed for 11 hours but I resigned after an hour or so when my last regiment got routed. I will be returning to this often, I think. You can choose to be any commander, in either army. I might try artillery next time, or maybe I could be Pleasanton ...

MP -> Host -> Scenario Game -> Select Scenario -> Set Scenario -> Select Commander -> Set Officer -> Launch

and to everyone involved at NSD, and on the forum, for making this such an amazing game.

PS I'd love to know more about how (or how much) this is scripted. My mind is a bit boggled ...

It's unscripted since it is a multiplayer scenario.

OK - is it then just the AI, on a basic order - essentially find and destroy?

I just had a great battle fighting as Burnside - I suffered heavy casualties but the Yankees occupied Sharpsburg and reached Lee's HQ

As Burnside, I received an order from McClellan after an hour or so. Is this just the AI?
