Scenario Team?

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Scenario Team?

Post by gunship24 »

Now we have a map team making some very good maps I was wondering if there was anyone here that wanted to make scenarios for the historical maps coming out? Im thinking like a small team for researching, OOB generation, implementation and testing. It would be nice to get some scenarios for the maps especially for peeps like me that dont know much about the battle and would like a historical content, maybe some what ifs, behind the map. The frequency of maps coming out looks like it would be doable to make scenarios before the next one is realeased to keep heads above the water so to speak. I would volunteer but dont know that much about the war other than the main battles and my scenario skills arent great and i have the Nap mod to continue with. I think this would be a great addition to the community.

Anyone interested? :) or any other thoughts?

I'm afraid I wouldn't have the time to contribute content, but I will be around to answer any questions for potential new scenario designers. There just aren't enough of them around here. :)

Scenario design can seem like a daunting task, but if you are shown the proper methods, shortcuts, things to avoid, etc., you can start shelling them out relatively quickly. The research is what is the most time consuming, but it's also the most enjoyable part, at least for me.

Again, if anyone has any interest in it, myself and I'm sure RebBugler, will be around to answer any questions you have.

I could contribute fictional MP scenarios, if there is any demand for this.
I don't research historical OOBs, but I can use them if someone else is creating them.

Are these for Napoleonics?
I definately would do that....

G,

Thanks for this. I agree with LP we need some new scenario designers to go along with these great maps the guys are producing.

I'd like to give it a try myself but all my time is spent trying to beat... uhhh.. I mean test the ones LP and RB create.
