All IDIOT'S Come Forward, Ref: Black Screen - 3 Days 7 hours and 1.5 Installation

Hey RebBugler....

Sorry, I spoke too soon. A couple of weeks ago I got the mod to load, played a few minutes and reported success....now I get the Black Screen, on just this mod? Note, I have got the Black Screen when I first installed the game when the game was first released.

I then get:
Error Signature, AppName - sowgb.exe, Appver 2.0.0.0 Mod name sowgb.exe, Mod Version 2.0.0.0 Offset 0050d9e.

Correction - Happening on all Mods

Any suggestions, anybody?

Just saw this, apologies, things have been hectic around here. So, game runs fine, but when any mod is enabled it crashes? When does the crash occur?

Can you post your SOWGB.log, which is found your Matrix --> Scourge of War - Gettysburg -- > Work folder ?

This file is update everytime you start a scenario and when there is a problem loading, it usually tells you where the problem is.

The other thing you can do is to 'Disable' all of your MODS, then 'Enable' them one at a time to see which one is not working...

I assume the Log File is the notepad file in Works as I didn't see anything actually named "Log". I disabled 3 Days/7 Hours Mod and my other Mods are working. (Thanks for that advice ) Below is what I found in the notepad file in Works that I assume is the Log File being referenced which seemed to be the error.

07:00:00 Could not load sprite GFX_FlagFlair at Graphics\Flags\

That's an error that occurred before patch 1.4 was patched. What patch are you using?

Actually, Patch 1.4026 is installed, but the same error results as noted....My set-up just does not like the 3 Days/7 Hours, I wish it did, because I still believe it's probably the best GB scenario out there.....in time I guess....

OK, I'M A IDIOT and I do not mean to be negative but here goes........

Where are final instructions for downloading 1.5. (Yes, I saw the thread, but remain confused) There is talk about going into the registry's and looking for this, and doing that....IDIOTS stay away from registry's. The format and file updating of this game aappears complicated to this IDIOT....

You guys who know the game's logic and set-up must get upset with us IDIOT'S, (assuming I'm not alone) but look at it from the IDIOT's perspective... we spend more time trying to figure these updates out than we do playing. We just want to pay the money, and pay more money for future battle ground, turn on the machine and play.....

It ain't happening.....

I , and other IDIOT'S appreciate the time you guys spend helping us, (really we do) but how instructions are defined and noted needs to be improved and explained on a level that us IDIOT'S can understand. Is this asking too much? Again, I'm not trying to be a smart-ass, just giving my opinion.

But perhaps, I'm the only idiot, if so, I'll change my name to the "lone reb idiot"

wow....too many cocktales last night for me....didn't mean to be windy, well not too windy, sorry if I offended anyone, didn't mean too, but I just don't understand alot of this file modifying, etc.

so all I got to do is download the patch and nothing else, and I don't have to enter any serial numbers, etc?

Yes, do the install as advised, and YOU WILL NEED YOUR REGISTRATION CODE, OR CODES, FOR EXPANSIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE BOUGHT.

Where do I find the Antietam Serial Number? It won't take activation code. If answer is Registy, where do I find that. Matrix site Support was no help. Purchased from Fast Springs.

OK, I went into regedit, now what, couldn't find anything related.
