Chancellorsville sounds

Post by Saddletank »

... or rather the lack of them. I cannot hear any ambient sounds on these maps - no water babbling in the creeks, no wind rustling in trees or grasses, no birdsong. Was a decision taken to omit all the sound zones off the map? I presume soundfile paying objects are planted on the map during its creation phase in a similar way I used to build train simulator routes. If so, that's a pity as I think its a retrograde step.

Any chance if putting them on these maps please?

I'm not sure how you are missing the sounds. There are at least 32 of them setup on each map.

Hm. Weird. Well thanks for the assurances that the files are there. Have played a few games on the new maps now and the place feels strangely dead and silent. I am reinstalling everything from scratch anyway, due to some crashing issues so hopefully this time round it'll work correctly.

Saddletank ,

Just for the heck of it, look in the Options to see of 'Play Map Sounds' is checked...

I believe it was Adukes who gave an answer to this by pointing out that first click on your speaker icon (taskbar), select Mixer, and check to see if your volume settings are at full. If you play SOW in full screen, go into your options, uncheck full screen, then exit out of game.

Restart the game (windowed mode), and click on your speaker icon, select mixer, and see if SOW volume slider is maxed out, if it is then it is something else.
