Okay here is how you fix how Firefox seems to know more about what you want than you do.
I have setup Xammp in Windows 8 (works flawlessly btw), and I use NO-IP to rediredt back to me.
Now if I enter in the address bar paranorbbs.no-ip.org Fire fox places www.paranorbbs.no-ip.org which is NOT what I want.
Here is the thing that causes people to try out the solution I'll post below, and they keep coming back saying it is not working. I'll explain the solution.
First enter this in your address bar (without the http://) about:config
CAUTION: You can really mess stuff up here, so just follow my simple steps, and you'll be fine.
Once you enter about:config a screen will appear in your webbrowser.
Enter fixup in the search bar.
1: Double tap your mouse button to toggle "browser.fixup.alternate.enabled" to False
2: Double Tap your mouse button to open "browser.fixup.alternate.prefix". A small windows will appear.
Now just delete the www. and just hit your spacebar (hitting your spacebar is very important, otherwise for some reason Firefox will still enter the www. in front of the url even though the www. no longer exists).
3: Double tap your mouse button to open "browser.fixup.alternate.suffix", and a small screen again will open.
Again just get rid of the .com, and press your spacebar as the key you wish to use.
That should fix your problems with Firefox entering the www., and the .com in the address.

On a side note about Firefox: I used it for years but ever since Flash Player 11 came out, it became unusable for me, no matter what I did. Even reverting back to Flash v. 10. I now use Chrome and have no problems. It's too bad because I like Firefox.

Hmmm, I have the latest Flash installed, and I am running version 16.0.2 of Firefox, and things seem to be going well for me but now that I opened my mouth, I had better find some wood to knock on.On a side note about Firefox: I used it for years but ever since Flash Player 11 came out, it became unusable for me, no matter what I did.
