Reply Spell Check

Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.

Reply Spell Check

Post by RebBugler »

Moved to a new computer and now I don't have spell check on my replies, I need this, otherwise I sound like an idiot from Arkansas, with :S no learnin'.

Could it be the browser, I've moved from Firefox to MS IE?

RB,

I just tried IE and it doesn't appear to have spell checking. It's supposed to be included in IE 10. Here is an article:

Damn MS, takes them 10 editions to figure out spell check is a necessity...duffaces

I'd prefer Firefox, but they presently have that damned 'underlining random text with pop-up ad' virus imbedded in their Flash Player that you need for streaming videos and animated weather maps. Tried my best to get rid of that virus, to no avail. Only way was to eliminate the Flash Player, but gotta have that...so, now it's Arkansas spelling in IE until they upgrade...DAMN browsers, built by idiots...don't have the time or patience to learn Opera, plus it lacked some features I'm accustomed to.

Is "duffaces spelled correctly?

Why don't you try Google Chrome? I just switched from FF to that it works great.

What's the advantage of Chrome over FF?

I switched to Chrome from Firefox about a year ago. Maybe I just had my Firefox loaded down with add ons, but Chrome seems to be a bit faster. One difference I did notice and appreciate is Chrome seems to render text better. It could just be me, but it seems less blurry in Chrome than in FF. Maybe it will help Reb save his old Arkansas eyes. :P

I was having a problem where Flash was locking up my browser constantly. I switched to Chrome; problem solved. I like FF, I've used it for years, but I just couldn't deal with that particular issue. I tried every suggestion I could find on the net but nothing worked.
