SoW sky modifications

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

SoW sky modifications

Post by Jolly »

I thought it would be a good idea to try and stick some new hi-res skies in SoW, not that it makes any difference to the gameplay in any way, but maybe it will enhance the visuals - thanks Davinci for the heads-up on this.

and of course, it's in the wrong forum :side:

That looks great. Have always thought that hi res sky mods could make a world of difference to the look of the game. Hope to see more.

Terrific work, Jolly. B)

Hmm, I like the clouds in picture#1, but the sky effect in picture#2.

Either way, great job!

The 1024 resolution is the key here (and of course the sky textures are great, very lifelike). I have been experimenting some with it and I'm very happy with the results. Hats off to you Jolly for sharing your screenshots and tech details with the community. I'm sure your influence will bring more high res skies to the mod maps, as well as NSD maps going forward.

Very much so, and like the weather it's likely to be changeable. :)

If you are referring to the Prairie Grove map, it is in the released Mods thread. If you are referring to the updated sky, I don't believe Jolly ever released it as a mod. Probably because it edits the map file itself. In theory he could release just the LSL file to replace the prairie grove LSL, but that is up to him.
