Wagons

Post by montecristo1981 »

At brigade and div battles i rarely use wagins - never run out of ammo. I usully win or die before that point.

At corps or amry (i dnt play much) i dont have time to sort out wagins.

What do u guys do?

tnx

M,

TC them right away and park them somewhere so they are out of the way.

Hmm, I have eight wagons assigned to the OOB that I always use, and have never played a game without using them, but I'm playing with nineteen brigades per side.

So, I didn't check a response in the Poll since you only mentioned Brigade\ Division level battles.

Of course. Once the artillery is properly sited they need resupply in order to keep them doing their good work.
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

In SP, they do become a pain when you see them calmly rolling through the middle of the battlefield, trying to find their division HQ. They'll hit the enemy's flanks faster than some of my best generals. Like Jack said, they have to be TC'd and placed out of harm's way, but I still need them during the latter stages of a long firefight, so I have to keep them near the fighting. How many times have I found out that a regiment in a critical position has ammo supply of 5 and I am madly scouting my rear areas for the closest wagon. Resupplying is usually unpleasantly gamey, but hell if I'm going to pull that good regiment off the line for the sake of realism when another regiment is marching in double file right through it (OK that's rare these days).
