Napoleonic Portraits Mod- Lite version

Post by Grog »

Here it is, my first ever mod. Hope you like it :)

http://www.mediafire.com/download/x46my ... od_Lite.7z

EDIT: New link. Renamed to Nap Portrait Mod Lite and fixed Waterloo oob which showed French portrait flag for some Dutch and Brunswick artillery.

Unzip into your SOWGB mods folder.

Activate on the Mods screen of game- lower than Road to Wagram/Penninsular mod and the Road to Wagram/Penninsular csv mod.

To play the large Eckmuhl oob you might need this patch/mod (lower than the previous named mods)

http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/napole ... mpaign-oob

3 OOB's included (have the prefix P ) Thanks to Gunship and Jack for these.

Full version will be in a few weeks (once I've moved house)

Cheers

Thanks Dav

It will not be my last (but don't tell y wife :P )

I have noticed a loss in quality with the download, I expect due to the zipping process?

I will try to get an unzipped version posted for DL ASAP.

Can't get near my main PC right now cos my wife has hijacked it for her course work

Does it work? I havn't had chance to test the DL yet!

EDIT: Zipping has not reduced quality. All good. Was probably my crappy laptop.

I downloaded it right after you posted it here, I'm not seeing any type of distortion.

Agreed, they look great!

Grog,

Good work there. Will download it tomorrow when idiot Dish internet resets itself and I can actually do things like download before 1030 hours Pacific time.

Also - do not envy you moving. I absolutely despise it.

just to let you know, work has not finished on getting the full version out. Before my house move I researched all the nap oobs released, sorting out the generals into appropriate brig, div, corps commands, picking up some more portraits on the way.

Progress has grinded to a halt for now but I will resume very soon, making the Kriegsspiel OOB's a priority, adding a few Prussian Gens in there too.

Cheers

Excellent. Once someone puts out a Russian OOB you'll really get to test your web searching skills.

Yeh, mate. Really wanted to thank you for loading that one on me  .

Thankfully, when it comes to the Russians, there is a massive collection of portraits from the contemporary British artist George Dawe in the Winter Palace collection(St Petersberg). He was commissioned to paint Russian Gens that took part in the 1812 campaign (over 300). These are available online and were a great source for my 'Ruskie' collection. I do however have to blend them but they have a style and tone that favours them for blending, unlike many I have done from drawings which have required up to ten stages of blending.

That said, Kutosov and indeed, the whole Austerlitz OOB would get priority attention.

LOL, makes repacking 100s of SoW sprites seem like a vicarage tea party.
HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.
