Upcoming announcement?

Post by Amish John »

Since we are about half way through the year, it may not be entirely inappropriate to again ask the question if NSD has yet established a timeframe when details about the first game will be released. I'm sure many of us have a lot of questions that can only be fielded and answered by NSD after the game has passed a certain point in its development.

Our current goal is to have something that can be played by the Fall. This will probably be a publisher demo. At this point we would be able to announce more information. Most of the reasons for withholding this information is so that we can manage expectations. We also can focus on developing the game rather than answering the questions that will be coming in as a result of the announcement. I personally am already up to my ears with emails based on the recent posts to the MMG boards, so I'm not sure how much more I can handle at this point.

btw - questions are never inappropriate, we appreciate seeing MMG players over here :)

I may have seen this somewhere else......or thought I did, but have you parted ways with Paradox Interactive?

NorbSoftDev has no relationship with Paradox, we have not yet decided how we will sell the game. TC2M from MMG is still under contract with Paradox.

What is a publishers demo? Would that be available to a select few of the board members?

I just wasn't sure where or how your relationship with Paradox stood.

It's a demo to give out to publishers to see if anyone wants to publish the game. I would think that at that point we would also start forming a test team and they would get a look at it too.

I think you need to show the publishers how innovative you are. What we need is a negative reinforcement device. You plug it into your surge protector and clip the other end to a sensitive part of your body. You have a regiment retreat and \"zzzztttt\", you get a jolt. You have an artillery piece captured and \"zzztttt\", you get a jolt.
