Some idea's

Post by Col. Miles »

I really loved the last two TC games and look forward to this new one with all the advances especially the multiplayer addition, but I hope you keep some of the good things in like the sound of the map when you open it,those little things really add to the overall emertion into the game, also the music in 2nd M was just amazing, I never get sick of it. And loadup screens are important also, the artwork needs to really put you in the mood to command troops. And i have an idea for when you opn the game map
it would show a map being spread open on a commanders table showing your arms and gloves
or you person like you are in camp making plans with your staff,I saw this once in a civil war game long ago and it really put you in the shoes of the leader, well thanks fr listening and I can't wait to play the new Gettysburg game with my good friend online
ad untl then I shall continue to check for updates and continue to play TCSM...

Welcome to the forum.

I like that map idea.

Sounds like something the community could easily mod. I would prefer new functionality, i.e. game-content over eye-candy. A zoom-able strategic map, where I could select units and give orders...
Anyway, I am very curious to see what new features Gettysburg is going to bring. I hope it will be a milestone in terms of AI.
Is there a chance there will be a preview or progress report anytime?

Right now we are just focused on finishing. We are close, but still have a ton to do. We have finished so much, but there's still features to finish. So there are no planned reports right now. But we still do try to keep up on the boards.

Take your time and just make a good game in the same fashion you all always have, I'd much rather have good gameplay and a game that has few bugs, so don't let us rush you all... :P

Agree'd when games are rushed, they always end up being crap. This game so far looks amazing, I'd hate to see it screwed up by trying to push for a end of the year, beginning of the year release, I don't mind waiting a while for an awesome game.

I have 2 examples of rushed games.

Call of Duty-Modern Warfare 2
Silent Hunter IV-Wolves of the Pacific

This game turned into a joke on the PC in the last month. Terrible/no communication, pretty much spitting in the face of PC gamers with everything they took out from the last game. And my favorite quote from Infinity Ward, "The game is not a direct port from the 360, the PC edition has text chat, mouse support, and resolution settings."

So glad I did not buy that game. It also makes me appreciate how open Norb is with the community here.

Well then it's a good thing I have a 360.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.
