My Weekend
This thread discusses the Content article: My Weekend
All I can say is cool!! I would love to meet some of the people from the boards, I should be able to meet PC come the end of August,(still gonna be in Jackson PC?).
Can't really comment about the Giants thing, still a little angry about the Super Bowl. Plus, it had to be a good weekend because it was my b-day on Sunday!:cheer:
Glad you all had a good time, plus you all probably needed a break from your computers!!

It was very cool. I know that a meeting of the people from the boards would be a great event! Maybe after we finish the game.
It's funny because as we looked at the battlefields, we all think of different things. Jim & Mark were discussing the battle and how units lined up and where the attacks came from. I was listening, thinking about how I would code the events they were discussing. While Eric was walking around taking pictures of textures that he could use on his buildings

If you have an interest in CW history, you probably never get tired of going to Gettysburg. I've been going there with friends several times a year since 1981. For me, it never gets old. Lately, we've been selecting a unit that fought there and walk in their footsteps. The first time we were down there this year we traced Iverson's brigade route to their doom from the Forney Farm site to their furthest advance several hundred yards away on Oak Ridge. The last time we were down there we walked the path of Hay's assault on Cemetery Hill. Another interesting one was tracing Brooke's brigade advance from Cemetery Ridge to the ridge in Rose's Wood on the south side of the Wheatfield.
With the ongoing rehabilitation work on the battlefield there seems to be a new vista to behold each time we go. It's amazing how the improved views illuminate the understanding of troop movements. It emphasizes the importance of the terrain and landscape features and makes it easier to understand the impact a grove of trees, undulations in the land, a patch of marshy ground, and an area of boulders can have on a formation of troops trying to traverse the field.
If this was the first trip to GB for some of the group, you probably didn't have a chance to visit some of the lesser visited areas of the field. Always something new to see.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

PC, you were there in spirit. I am now officially terrified of you. All I heard was \"When PC is on the team he'll know how many stones were on the foundation of this barn or how many boards of siding were on a house.\" I'm like \"Great, we'll never finish now\"

hey, a little attention to detail is NOT considered a character flaw in this group...
that said, MarkT and I weighed every boulder in Culp's Hill for PC's benefit, so we're a leg up there....
