I'm playing GB06 right now, about 18 minutes to go, Anyhow, the scenario major win is 3500 points, but looking at the high score page, you need 10,000 to get promoted. You have already done that, all you need is really any win, does not have to be a major win. B) IMOIn all seriousness, I just beat my first scenario, Blood in the Run, on grognard. The problem is, my final score, 3505, was lower than the score with which I beat the scenario on normal difficulty, 4615. So, say the same thing happens with all teh other scenarios (and that seems likely, as I doubt many folks will outscore their normal scores when playing on grog level), how can you tell? The high scores screen only shows the highest score and on what difficulty level you achieved that score, not the highest score on each particular difficulty level.

Mr. Speaker:
To register your new scores, you will have to delete or rename your old highscore file and start over.

Do you mean he would have to start the whole promotion process all over again? If so, That does'nt seem right to me for you already have earned your star and bar. I'm not sure who outranks who? Is a General of the Army a higher rank than Major General?Mr. Speaker:

Boston,
It's just if you want to try again at a harder level, where your scores are not likely to be higher than those garnered at the normal level, then yes, you are starting over. The game is only interested in the highest score attained, not the highest score at a certain difficulty level. Quantity counts, not quality.

Re:General of the Armies
Still waiting to hear form norb on this one. Since scores were necessary to obtain general status, I presume they will be necessary to obtain general fo the armies status. Also, I note that the beta patch does not say anything about the "general of the armies" status, so I doubt it is in that patch. We already know that norb was surprised that so many people obtained general status so quickly, and that the "general of the armies" moniker was created as a response to that situation. All of this data leads me to believe that there is nothing coded regarding beating the game on grognard. With that in mind, I return to my previous question: how do we prove that we did it if the grog scores do not show up on the high scores screen. I can't believe that we would be required to delete our previous scores and start over. That would be . . . well . . . extremely annoying. It just seems that this hasn't been very well thought out.

Well we are trying to think it out now.It just seems that this hasn't been very well thought out.

I didn't mean to imply that you guys wouldn't. To me, that was a given. I just meant that everything seemed to be a little hasty in light of the conditions. I know that we will all be happy with whatever you come up with (or, at least, 99% of us will, and that's good enough!).MrSpkr wrote:Well we are trying to think it out now.It just seems that this hasn't been very well thought out.

I misquoted; I was playing GB07(MV 3500), skipped GB06 (MV 10,000)for the time being, regardless, I ended up with a Minor Vic, of 3126, which got posted, but no promotion.. the point I'm trying to make is; For every GB win, it opens up subsequent scenarios, it appears you do not have to achieve a promotion to do so. I had to wonder if this would be of revelance to achieving a Grognard, General of the Army? Personally, I'm a long, long, long way off from even attempting grognard. :laugh:MrSpkr wrote:I'm playing GB06 right now, about 18 minutes to go, Anyhow, the scenario major win is 3500 points, but looking at the high score page, you need 10,000 to get promoted. Re:General of the Armies
You are correct about the game and it determining the high score to display. We are having a discussion about that now. It has been thought out, but not implemented. It will be in the official patch. So I suggest practicing until then
