Difficulty levels
Re: Difficulty levels
so what are you doing, constantly sending out couriers messages for map info?
Re: Difficulty levels
Constantly looking out for enemy flags, getting spooked by stonewalls looking like Rebs as they appear through the trees (really!), or by bits of dirt on the screen (really!), and looking for good vantage points from which to spy out the land. When you see the enemy, try not to be seen by them, count the flags and report (vai free text courier message) to your fellow generals. While doing so, try to remember to say exactly where they are, in what strength, and in which direction they're moving.
Re: Difficulty levels
Hopefully, the next Courier update, will include couriers relaying some information about enemy troop strengths.
Such as – General “” begs to report that “the enemy is spotted just North of here, with a strength of approximately 5000 troops moving Southeast, no sign of Cavalry, or Artillery”.
That would be a welcomed update by “Norb and Team”

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

Re: Difficulty levels
Actually, the reference was to the old U.S. Army bulk hot food containers, not to the C.S.S. Virginia nor to the U.S.S. Merrimack's hull upon which the Virginia was built.

Yes Davinci. That would be brilliant!Hopefully, the next Courier update, will include couriers relaying some information about enemy troop strengths.

Re: Difficulty levels
Already, subordinate and peer AI generals will report sighting troops, though their reports are not all that useful.
In HITS one's eyes become so attuned to watching for flags on the horizon or in the murky distance of far valleys that I have been spooked before by a couple of farm buildings that have stubby square dark chimneys that are close to flag-shaped and there is one particular tree graphic used on the Gettysburg and East Cavalry maps that has a small square dark patch low down on one side. I have had to double take on reporting a tree as a distant enemy before.

HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.
